FAQ

What are on-chain NFTs?

The term on-chain has come to have several different definitions. My use of the term is around the definition widely adopted in Cardano which means that a piece is generated ‘on the fly’ by code stored on the blockchain. There is no external storage, such as IPFS (except for perhaps thumbnail storage), or third party / Web2 requirement or interaction meaning that as long as the blockchain is in existence then so is the piece.

This means that you can see the code that generates my on-chain pieces by right-clicking and inspecting / using developer tools.

Where can I buy your NFTs?

If a collection is currently minting you will find a link on my homepage and it will be well publicised in my Discord server and on Twitter. To purchase a piece from a collection which has sold out, please locate the collection page on this site and click ‘Browse the collection.’ to be taken to an external site where secondary market purchases can be made.

If there are no pieces available, or if you know exactly what you’re looking for, please visit my Discord server and post a message in the main discussion / trades channel.

Do you only work in NFTs / on Cardano?

Whilst my current focus is on NFTs these are not the only medium I work with. Furthermore, I have produced works on blockchains outside of Cardano including Tezos and am excited to see NFT developments and thriving communities focused around other blockchains such as Polkadot and VeChain.

Can I buy prints of your pieces?

In order to enhance the enjoyment of the pieces I create I am working to bring a print store in the near future. The intention is to create hand-produced, signed and authenticated pieces to the highest quality using archival quality paper and inks printed individually to order on plotter.

Pieces will be limited to holders of an original NFT who will be able to order prints of their chosen iterations.

How can I be sure an NFT is authentic?

All collections have policy numbers noted at the foot of the particular collection page. Only pieces created by me under the collection can be minted under the policy, this is therefore a guarantee of authenticity. Please ensure that policies match before buying a piece.

Do I own the rights to my NFT?

I retain the copyright to the code behind images and the images themselves. However, I take no issue with them being used for personal pleasure, presenting them digitally or printing them for personal use.

If you would like to use a piece for any other purpose or would like to enquire about commercial rights, please contact me.

What are royalties?

Royalties vary between collections and will typically be in the 5-10% range. This is the percentage of the sale price which is sent to me via smart contract whenever a piece changes hands.

What is Wallpaper Group?

Wallpaper Group is the limited company I trade under, named after the 17 groups of mathematical symmetries as a founding principle of design. I also use the Wallpaper Group brand to showcase the work of other selected web3 artists.
